Through the power of shareholder resolutions, Australian Ethical Investment and one of its funds, the Climate Advocacy Fund, have convinced ASX listed companies to report their carbon emissions. As a result, thousands of shareholders have been informed of the climate change risks confronting their companies.
James Thier will discuss this new fund, a Growth (ASX200 based) index fund which aims to deliver market performance with low fees, and is the only fund of its kind in Australia.
True Sustainable Investing
Jo Hume, Investment analyst with CVC Limited, will present an educational briefing on sustainable investing. A Master of Engineering, Jo was awarded a Churchill Fellowship, the Premier’s Award for environment and education and is a Queens Trust Forum participant.
Jo will examine reversing the trends posed by global warming and the generally unsustainable use of resources currently in place in both our own and emerging economies. She will provide examples of Clean Tech companies which provide an opportunity for reduced carbon emissions, removing pollution and saving our resources.
